Manufactured by Sun Hydronics, Inc., the SunStation is a single-unit station, containing all the pumps, copper fittings and controllers necessary to add solar-heated water to your home.
The SunStation includes a 45-gallon indirect tank with heat exchanger and a solar hot water controller. Add your choice of flat-plate or evacuated-tube solar hot water collectors, and the kit system is ready to be attached to your current water heater and DHW plumbing system. With your water heater as backup for those time when the sun does not shine, the SunStation will provide most of the domestic hot water for a family of four.
These close-looped systems are filled with non-toxic antifreeze, so they are safe for even the coldest climate. Mounts for sloping roofs are included. These systems qualify for state and federal tax credits (see below).

Features the Viessmann Vitosol 100 collector (flat-plate collectors are best for domestic hot water systems in sunny areas)

Features the Viessmann Vitosol 300 vacuum-tube collector (evacuated tube collectors are the most efficient in areas where there is frequent cloudiness, such as coastal areas, although they provide more heat in all types of weather because they make heat from any kind of light, not just direct sun)
